Description: The value of this object is equal to the excess burst size (Be) parameter (measured in bits) for this PVC in the ingress direction (into the frame relay UNI).
What is viprSubChnlExcessBurstSize?
This OID stores the Excess Burst Size (Be) parameter in bits, which allows additional temporary bandwidth beyond Bc that may be dropped by the carrier. Network engineers configure Be to permit overflow bursts during traffic spikes, accepting the risk that excess frames marked as DE (discard eligible) might not reach the destination. For example, Be of 32000 bits adds 62.5 ms of additional burst window on top of Bc, but these frames have lower priority.
