Description: unrecognized encapsulation type

What is viprStatsPrototypeErrorsLo?

This is the lower-order 32-bit counter for the same unrecognized encapsulation event, allowing overflow-safe counting on busy interfaces. Monitoring both hi and lo counters together lets you spot when protocol mismatches accumulate during sustained data transfers. If the lo counter reads 45000, you have 45,000 packets with unrecognized wrappers, which usually means endpoint misconfiguration.
