twoWireSourceSignalingBits

Module: ACMIB

OID (symbolic): ACMIB::twoWireSourceSignalingBits

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.1751.2.18.2.7.1.6

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: This field selects the signaling bits as seen in DS1 signal, ab or abcd.

What is twoWireSourceSignalingBits?

This OID selects whether the card uses 2-bit (ab) or 4-bit (abcd) signaling from the DS1 digital signal to carry phone call information like on-hook/off-hook states. Network engineers configure this to match what the legacy phone system expects, as older systems may use only 2 bits while newer ones use 4 bits for richer call state information. Selecting 'abcd' gives the system more signaling information to work with, such as the ability to indicate busy tones and call states separately for multiple calls.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.1751.2.18.2.7.1.6
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> ACMIB::twoWireSourceSignalingBits

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.1751.2.18.2.7.1.6.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> ACMIB::twoWireSourceSignalingBits.1

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> twoWireSourceSignalingBits.1
