msProtocol

Module: ACMIB

OID (symbolic): ACMIB::msProtocol

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.1751.2.18.2.4.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: protocol type for serial port

What is msProtocol?

This OID selects the protocol type (RS232, RS422, RS485, or proprietary) that the serial port will use for communication. Network managers configure this setting based on what type of external device is connected, as each protocol uses different signal levels and handshaking. Setting this to rs232 configures the port for standard DTE/DCE mode with proper signal levels.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.1751.2.18.2.4.1.4
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> ACMIB::msProtocol

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.1751.2.18.2.4.1.4.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> ACMIB::msProtocol.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.1751.2.18.2.4.1.4.1 i <value>
