Description: Equipment type

What is msEquipmentType?

This OID specifies whether the external device connected to the serial port is DTE (terminal) or DCE (modem/network equipment) to enable proper signal handling. Setting the correct type ensures the device applies the right control signal logic and handshake procedures for the connected equipment. A value of dce tells the device it's communicating with Data Communications Equipment acting as a server.
