What is msChannelIfType?

ACMIB::msChannelIfType specifies the service protocol or interface type for a multi-serial (multi-port serial) channel, defining how it will handle data. A network engineer configures this during setup to match the protocol the channel will carry, such as PPP, Frame Relay, or async protocols. For example, setting this to 'PPP' means the multi-serial channel will use Point-to-Point Protocol.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.1751.2.18.3.4.1.2
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> ACMIB::msChannelIfType

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.1751.2.18.3.4.1.2.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> ACMIB::msChannelIfType.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.1751.2.18.3.4.1.2.1 i <value>
