frAtmSpvcVccRemoteSelectType

Module: ACMIB

OID (symbolic): ACMIB::frAtmSpvcVccRemoteSelectType

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.1751.2.18.6.32.1.28

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Indicates whether the remote DLCI/VPI/VCI values are to be used at the destination. If 'any' is used, the destination switch will choose the DLCI/VPI/VCI values. In such a case, once the SPVC is connected, the value of this object will change to 'required', such that the same DLCI/VPI/VCI values will continue to be used even if the connection is torn down and re-established. If the value 'required' is specified, the values: frAtmSpvcVccRemoteDlci or frAtmSpvcVccRemoteVpi and frAtmSpvcVccRemoteVci, must be supplied and are used at the destination.

What is frAtmSpvcVccRemoteSelectType?

ACMIB::frAtmSpvcVccRemoteSelectType determines whether the remote DLCI/VPI/VCI values are fixed (required) or chosen automatically by the switch (any). Engineers configure this to balance between consistent routing through the network and allowing flexible virtual circuit assignment. For example, 'required' means specific fixed values must be used every time; 'any' allows the switch to pick available numbers.
