bridgeDomainSpanningTree

Module: ACMIB

OID (symbolic): ACMIB::bridgeDomainSpanningTree

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.1751.2.18.5.9.1.17

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Allows the bridge to be configured to run without the spanning tree algorithm.

What is bridgeDomainSpanningTree?

This OID enables or disables the spanning tree algorithm on the bridge, determining whether the device will calculate and enforce a loop-free topology. Network engineers toggle this based on whether the network design requires automatic loop prevention or already guarantees loop-free paths through careful physical design. Enabling it activates STP's protective mechanisms; disabling it assumes the network administrator has designed out all loops manually.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.1751.2.18.5.9.1.17
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> ACMIB::bridgeDomainSpanningTree

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.1751.2.18.5.9.1.17.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> ACMIB::bridgeDomainSpanningTree.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.1751.2.18.5.9.1.17.1 i <value>
