Module: ACMIB

OID (symbolic): ACMIB::atmVnnOverSubscription

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.1751.2.18.5.17.1.9

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Over subscription factor

What is atmVnnOverSubscription?

This OID stores a percentage multiplier (1 to 100) that allows the ATM equipment to oversubscribe the available bandwidth by committing more capacity to virtual circuits than the physical link can actually deliver. Network engineers configure oversubscription to maximize link utilization when traffic patterns show that not all circuits will run at full bandwidth simultaneously, which is common in bursty traffic. Setting this to 150 means the equipment can commit 150% of the physical port bandwidth to SVC connections, assuming that in practice only 67% will be used at the same time.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.1751.2.18.5.17.1.9
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> ACMIB::atmVnnOverSubscription

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.1751.2.18.5.17.1.9.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> ACMIB::atmVnnOverSubscription.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.1751.2.18.5.17.1.9.1 i <value>
