atmSpvcVccRemoteSelectType
Module: ACMIB
OID (symbolic): ACMIB::atmSpvcVccRemoteSelectType
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.1751.2.18.6.18.1.2
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-write
Description: Indicates whether the remote VPI/VCI values are to be used at the destination. If 'any' is used, the destination switch will choose the VPI/VCI values. In such a case, once the SPVC is connected, the value of this object will change to 'required', such that the same VPI/VCI values will continue to be used even if the connection is torn down and re-established. If the value 'required' is specified, the values: atmSpvcVccRemoteVpi and atmSpvcVccRemoteVci, must be supplied and are used at the destination.
What is atmSpvcVccRemoteSelectType?
This OID controls whether you specify exact VPI/VCI values at the destination or let the remote switch choose them automatically. Most production SPVC configurations specify 'required' to use fixed VPI/VCI pairs, ensuring the connection is consistent and predictable across restarts. If set to 'any', the remote switch picks free VPI/VCI values, but once connected this value changes to 'required' to lock those values for stability.
