This write-only OID performs an immediate disconnect of an active SVC with the guarantee that the endpoint will not automatically retry to re-establish the connection. Network engineers use this to cleanly shut down problematic circuits without their spontaneous re-establishment. For example, writing 'release' here terminates a runaway circuit and prevents the system from reconnecting until you explicitly re-enable it through the provisioning interface.
