atmAtmSpvcVccRemoteSelectType

Module: ACMIB

OID (symbolic): ACMIB::atmAtmSpvcVccRemoteSelectType

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.1751.2.18.6.33.1.25

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Indicates whether the remote VPI/VCI values are to be used at the destination. If 'any' is used, the destination switch will choose the VPI/VCI values. In such a case, once the SPVC is connected, the value of this object will change to 'required', such that the same VPI/VCI values will continue to be used even if the connection is torn down and re-established. If the value 'required' is specified, the values: atmAtmSpvcVccRemoteVpi and atmAtmSpvcVccRemoteVci, must be supplied and are used at the destination.

What is atmAtmSpvcVccRemoteSelectType?

This OID determines whether the destination switch can choose the VPI/VCI values or whether specific values must be used for the remote end of the connection. Network engineers configure this to control how automatic VPI/VCI negotiation works during setup. For example, setting to 'any' lets the destination switch pick available identifiers, whereas 'required' locks in the specific VPI/VCI pair you provide.
