accSrStpTopChangeTimer

Module: ACC-MIB

OID (symbolic): ACC-MIB::accSrStpTopChangeTimer

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5.1.1.25.11.1.9

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: TimeTicks

Access: read-only

Description:

This timer serves to determine the time period for which hello frames are transmitted with the Topology Change flag parameter set by the Bridge when it is the Root following the detection of a topology change.

What is accSrStpTopChangeTimer?

This read-only OID shows the time period (in hundredths of a second) during which the root bridge continues sending Hello frames with the topology change flag set. Network engineers use this to understand how long the network will use accelerated aging for dynamic MAC address entries after a topology change. For instance, a value of 35000 means the root broadcasts topology change signals for 350 seconds, telling all bridges to forget old MAC addresses faster.
