accSrHopLimit

Module: ACC-MIB

OID (symbolic): ACC-MIB::accSrHopLimit

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5.1.1.25.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description:

This bridge will discard a broadcast packet which has transited this many bridges en route.

What is accSrHopLimit?

This OID sets the maximum number of bridge hops that a broadcast packet can traverse before being discarded. Engineers adjust this value to prevent broadcast storms from endlessly circulating in source-route bridged networks. For instance, setting this to 7 ensures that broadcast packets are dropped after crossing 7 bridges, limiting propagation.
