accRipUpdateTimer

Module: ACC-MIB

OID (symbolic): ACC-MIB::accRipUpdateTimer

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5.1.1.16.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: TimeTicks

Access: read-write

Description:

This unit will send updates to its neighbors at the interval established by this timer. Note that all other RIP timers are scaled off this value.

What is accRipUpdateTimer?

This timer controls how frequently (in seconds) your device sends RIP routing updates to neighboring routers; other RIP timers automatically scale based on this value. Network engineers adjust this timer to balance how quickly the network detects routing changes against the overhead of routing traffic; shorter intervals mean faster convergence but more bandwidth used. Setting this to 30 seconds means routing updates transmit every 30 seconds, and if the RIP expiration timer is set to 3x the update timer, it automatically becomes 90 seconds.

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> ACC-MIB::accRipUpdateTimer

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5.1.1.16.2.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> ACC-MIB::accRipUpdateTimer.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5.1.1.16.2.1 i <value>
