Module: ACC-MIB

OID (symbolic): ACC-MIB::accPppLcpMaxFailure

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5.1.1.32.2.1.10

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description:

What is accPppLcpMaxFailure?

This OID sets the maximum number of Configure-Nak messages (rejection with suggestions) your device will accept (1-255) before giving up on LCP negotiation. When the remote device sends a Nak, it's saying 'I don't like your settings, try these instead'; this counter limits how long your device keeps accepting counter-proposals. You adjust this on links where configuration negotiation tends to go in circles or when you want quicker failure detection. Setting this to 10 means your device will accept up to 10 counter-proposals from the remote side; after that, if no agreement is reached, the link fails.
