Hop count

What is accIpxNetHops?

This stores the maximum number of router hops a packet can traverse before being discarded to prevent infinite routing loops. Engineers set this to limit packet lifetime across the network; too low causes distant networks to become unreachable, while too high wastes bandwidth on looping packets. A standard value of 15 matches IPX RIP limits for medium-sized networks; 30 extends range for very large internetworks.
