accAtNodeChecksum

Module: ACC-MIB

OID (symbolic): ACC-MIB::accAtNodeChecksum

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5.1.1.28.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description:

The AppleTalk checksum mode. If set to on(1), output packets will be generated with the standard AppleTalk checksum. If set to off(2), output packets will be generated with a null checksum. Checksum verification is performed on input if and only if a DDP checksum is present.

What is accAtNodeChecksum?

This controls whether outgoing AppleTalk packets include the standard checksum or a null checksum (input packets are always verified if a checksum is present). Network engineers adjust this for compatibility with legacy AppleTalk devices that may not support or require checksum validation. Setting it to 'on' adds a checksum to every outgoing AppleTalk packet to detect transmission errors; setting to 'off' omits the checksum.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5.1.1.28.1.2
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> ACC-MIB::accAtNodeChecksum

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5.1.1.28.1.2.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> ACC-MIB::accAtNodeChecksum.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5.1.1.28.1.2.1 i <value>
