Description:
Hop counter
What is accIpxSrvHops?
This OID stores an integer representing the hop count (number of router hops) between the local device and the service, with lower values indicating a closer, more direct path and higher values indicating a distant service. A network engineer uses this metric to prefer nearby services for performance and to detect unreachable services (those with excessively high hop counts, such as 16, which is unreachable). A hop count of 2 means the service is two routers away, whereas a hop count of 1 means it is directly connected.
