Description:

Split horizon mode of IPX protocol

What is accIpxSpltHorz?

ACC-IPX::accIpxSpltHorz enables split horizon, a routing rule that prevents the IPX router from advertising routes back to the interface they arrived from. Engineers use this setting to reduce unnecessary routing traffic and prevent routing loops in complex network topologies. Enabling split horizon cuts routing update traffic by half because the router no longer wastes bandwidth announcing routes to their origin.
