Description:

The number of packets received on this port whose hop count had reached the maximum value.

What is accIpxPortHopCnts?

This counter tracks packets that arrived with their hop count already at the maximum allowed value, meaning they were dropped to prevent infinite loops. You'd monitor this to detect packets being sent with incorrect TTL settings or networks where packets have to traverse too many hops. A count of 15 exceeded-hop packets per hour on a small network might indicate a routing loop or misconfiguration.
