Description: The number of packets received with no end marker. Missing end markers require a resynchronization of the history buffers at each end of the link.
What is accCompressSmdsStatNoEndMarks?
This OID counts packets received without an end-of-packet marker, which is a corruption condition that also triggers a resynchronization of the compression buffers (a running counter of missing-marker events). Network engineers watch this to detect packet corruption in transit, as missing end markers mean data loss or corruption and force the system to pause and resync. A value of 5 missing markers in an hour indicates occasional packet corruption that could be caused by a faulty network interface or cable.
