Module: ACC-COMPRESS

OID (symbolic): ACC-COMPRESS::accCompressSmdsStatAvgCompIn

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5.1.1.6.9.1.10

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Gauge

Access: read-only

Description:

The average compression rate of packets presented for decompression expressed as a percentage between 0 and 100. 100% is the unattainable rate which could only be achieved by compressing all packets to zero bits.

What is accCompressSmdsStatAvgCompIn?

This OID reports the average compression ratio of received compressed packets, expressed as a percentage from 0-100 (where higher percentages mean more aggressive compression, and 100% means theoretically zero-size packets). Administrators track this to measure how well the remote end is compressing data before sending it to the local device. A value of 35% means incoming compressed data is, on average, 35% of the size it was before remote compression.
