Module: ACC-COMPRESS

OID (symbolic): ACC-COMPRESS::accCompressPhysStatAvgCompIn

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5.1.1.6.7.1.9

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Gauge

Access: read-only

Description:

The average compression rate of packets presented for decompression expressed as a percentage between 0 and 100. 100% is the unattainable rate which could only be achieved by compressing all packets to zero bits.

What is accCompressPhysStatAvgCompIn?

This percentage gauge shows the average compression ratio for incoming traffic—how much the data was shrunk after decompression (0–100 percent range, with 100 percent being theoretically unattainable). A network engineer watches this to confirm compression is working effectively on received data streams. A value of 65 percent means incoming compressed traffic was compressed to 65 percent of its original size, saving 35 percent bandwidth.
