accCompressFfrStatAvgCompIn

Module: ACC-COMPRESS

OID (symbolic): ACC-COMPRESS::accCompressFfrStatAvgCompIn

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5.1.1.6.5.1.10

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Gauge

Access: read-only

Description:

The average compression rate of packets presented for decompression expressed as a percentage between 0 and 100. 100% is the unattainable rate which could only be achieved by compressing all packets to zero bits.

What is accCompressFfrStatAvgCompIn?

This OID shows the average compression ratio for incoming data as a percentage, where lower values mean better compression (more bytes removed). Network engineers use this metric to validate that compression is actually reducing bandwidth consumption on the receive side and to identify when compression ratios degrade due to pre-compressed traffic or configuration changes. A value of 35% means incoming data was compressed down to 35% of its original size, saving 65% of bandwidth.
