accAtNodeChecksum

Module: ACC-AT

OID (symbolic): ACC-AT::accAtNodeChecksum

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5.1.1.28.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description:

The AppleTalk checksum mode. If set to on(1), output packets will be generated with the standard AppleTalk checksum. If set to off(2), output packets will be generated with a null checksum. Checksum verification is performed on input if and only if a DDP checksum is present.

What is accAtNodeChecksum?

This OID enables or disables checksum calculation for outgoing AppleTalk packets, with 'on' using the standard algorithm and 'off' sending null (empty) checksums. Checksum validation is always performed on received packets if a checksum is present, but the outgoing mode affects compatibility with remote devices. Setting this to 'on' (value 1) ensures full protocol compliance with strict AppleTalk devices; setting to 'off' (value 2) may improve throughput on trusted networks but risks undetected corruption.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5.1.1.28.1.2
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> ACC-AT::accAtNodeChecksum

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5.1.1.28.1.2.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> ACC-AT::accAtNodeChecksum.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5.1.1.28.1.2.1 i <value>
