h3cDhcpSnoopSpoofServerDetected

Module: A3COM-HUAWEI-DHCPSNOOP-MIB

OID (symbolic): A3COM-HUAWEI-DHCPSNOOP-MIB::h3cDhcpSnoopSpoofServerDetected

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.43.45.1.10.2.36.2.0.1

Node type: NOTIFICATION-TYPE

Description: To detect unauthorized DHCP servers on a network, the DHCP snooping device sends DHCP-DISCOVER messages through its downstream port (which is connected to the DHCP clients). If any response (DHCP-OFFER message) is received from the downstream port, an unauthorized DHCP server is considered present, and then the device sends a trap. With unauthorized DHCP server detection enabled, the interface sends a DHCP-DISCOVER message to detect unauthorized DHCP servers on the network. If this interface receives a DHCP-OFFER message, the DHCP server which sent it is considered unauthorized.

Examples

Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):

snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' A3COM-HUAWEI-DHCPSNOOP-MIB::h3cDhcpSnoopSpoofServerDetected
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.43.45.1.10.2.36.2.0.1

Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):

snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public

Example snmptrapd log entry:

zoo11-linux.zoo [UDP: [192.168.30.111]:54471->[192.168.30.10]:162]:
