Description: This object is used to select the broadcast limit feature sample interval. That is, this object contains the value of the time interval over which the number of broadcast packets per second are calculated. If that number exceeds the value of a3ComBrgBroadCastLimit for a particular port, the bridge will stop forwarding all broadcast packets on that port for the rest of the time interval.
What is a3ComBrgBLimitTimer?
This read-write integer selects the time interval (sample window) over which the bridge counts broadcast packets per second to enforce broadcast rate limits. The bridge uses this interval to detect broadcast storms; if broadcasts exceed the a3ComBrgBroadCastLimit threshold, it stops forwarding broadcasts on that port. Setting this to 10 seconds means the bridge measures broadcast rate over 10-second windows to prevent congestion.
