Description: This field only applies if you configure multiple TACACS+ servers. select indexPriority and the switch tries to authenticate with the first configured TACACS+ server, if the TACACS+ server does not respond then this switch tries to authenticate with the second TACACS+ server. Select roundRobin to alternate between the TACACS+ servers that it sends authentication requests to.
What is zyTacacsAuthenticationServerMode?
This object selects how the switch distributes authentication requests when multiple TACACS+ servers are configured: indexPriority tries the first server, falling to the second only if the first doesn't respond, while roundRobin alternates requests between the configured servers. Admins choose indexPriority when they have a clear primary and backup server, or roundRobin to spread load evenly across equally trusted servers. Setting zyTacacsAuthenticationServerMode to roundRobin(2) would have the switch alternate login authentication requests between its configured TACACS+ servers rather than always favoring one.
