Description: Enter a string of up to 63 ASCII characters that the switch adds into the Agent Remote ID sub-option for PPPoE discovery packets received on this port. Space are allows. If you do not specify a string here or in the Remote-id field for a VLAN on a port, the Switch automatically uses the PPPoE client's MAC address.
What is zyPppoeIaPortRemoteIdString?
This string, up to 63 ASCII characters, is the value the switch inserts into the Agent Remote ID sub-option for PPPoE discovery packets received on this port, falling back to the client's MAC address if left unset. Admins configure it to provide a stable, human-readable subscriber or line identifier to the PPPoE server for accounting, instead of relying on the client's MAC address which could change with equipment swaps. Leaving this field blank on a residential access port means the switch automatically uses the connected PPPoE client's MAC address as the Remote ID.
