Module: ZYXEL-PORT-AUTHENTICATION-MIB

OID (symbolic): ZYXEL-PORT-AUTHENTICATION-MIB::zyPortAuthenticationPortGuestVlanState

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.890.1.15.3.62.1.2.1.8

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: EnabledStatus

Access: read-write

Description: Enable/Disable Guest VLAN on the port. Clients that fail authentication are placed in the guest VLAN and can receive limited services.

What is zyPortAuthenticationPortGuestVlanState?

Enables or disables the Guest VLAN feature on a specific port, which places clients that fail 802.1x authentication into a VLAN offering limited services. Admins enable this to give unauthenticated users restricted network access, such as reaching a captive portal, rather than being fully blocked. Enabling this on a port means a client that exhausts zyPortAuthenticationPortMaxRequest attempts is dropped into the configured guest VLAN instead of being denied access entirely.
