zyGreenEthernetShortReachPortState

Module: ZYXEL-GREEN-ETHERNET-MIB

OID (symbolic): ZYXEL-GREEN-ETHERNET-MIB::zyGreenEthernetShortReachPortState

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.890.1.15.3.93.1.4.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: EnabledStatus

Access: read-write

Description: Enable/Disable Auto Power Down by port

What is zyGreenEthernetShortReachPortState?

This object turns the short-reach power-saving feature on or off for one specific switch port; the MIB's own DESCRIPTION text is a copy-paste duplicate of the Auto Power Down field's wording, but the object name and its position alongside the other per-port Green Ethernet objects identify it as the per-port short-reach control. An admin uses this setting to reduce transmit power on individual ports with short cable runs, without affecting ports needing full-distance signal strength. For example (illustrative), an admin enables zyGreenEthernetShortReachPortState on a port connected via a two-meter patch cable to a nearby access point.
