zyDiffservState

Module: ZYXEL-DIFFSERV-MIB

OID (symbolic): ZYXEL-DIFFSERV-MIB::zyDiffservState

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.890.1.15.3.22.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: EnabledStatus

Access: read-write

Description: Enable/Disable DiffServ on the switch. DiffServ is a class of service (CoS) model that marks packets so that they receive specific per-hop treatment at DiffServ-compliant network devices along the route based on the application types and traffic flow.

What is zyDiffservState?

This object globally turns DiffServ-based traffic prioritization on or off for the switch, a class-of-service model that marks packets so DiffServ-aware devices along the path give them consistent per-hop treatment based on application type. An admin enables this switch-wide as a prerequisite before configuring the specific priority mappings and per-port settings that make DiffServ actually useful. For example, enabling zyDiffservState is the first step before setting individual priority mappings elsewhere in the same MIB.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.890.1.15.3.22.1.1
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> ZYXEL-DIFFSERV-MIB::zyDiffservState

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.890.1.15.3.22.1.1.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> ZYXEL-DIFFSERV-MIB::zyDiffservState.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.890.1.15.3.22.1.1.1 s <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> zyDiffservState.1
