What is secCurrentStage?
This object reports which of the three defined states -- normal, watch, or quiet -- the device's SNMP security model is currently in. Admins use it to gauge how aggressively the device is currently reacting to suspected SNMP abuse, since quiet mode typically means the agent has throttled or blocked further requests after repeated failures. For example, secCurrentStage reading watch(1) after several bad community strings tells an admin the device has begun monitoring the source more closely before escalating to quiet(2).
