xstInstancePortPriority

Module: V2H124-24-MIB

OID (symbolic): V2H124-24-MIB::xstInstancePortPriority

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.52.4.12.30.1.5.6.5.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Integer32

Access: read-write

Description: Defines the priority used for this port in the Spanning Tree Algorithm. If the path cost for all ports on a switch is the same, the port with the highest priority (i.e., lowest value) will be configured as an active link in the Spanning Tree. This makes a port with higher priority less likely to be blocked if the Spanning Tree Algorithm is detecting network loops. Where more than one port is assigned the highest priority, the port with lowest numeric identifier will be enabled.

What is xstInstancePortPriority?

Sets this port's priority (0-240) for Spanning Tree port selection: when ports have equal path cost, the one with the numerically lowest priority value wins and becomes the active (forwarding) link, letting an admin bias which of two equal-cost redundant links stays active.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.52.4.12.30.1.5.6.5.1.3
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> V2H124-24-MIB::xstInstancePortPriority

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.52.4.12.30.1.5.6.5.1.3.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> V2H124-24-MIB::xstInstancePortPriority.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.52.4.12.30.1.5.6.5.1.3.1 i <value>
