ssSwapIn
Module: UCD-SNMP-MIB
OID (symbolic): UCD-SNMP-MIB::ssSwapIn
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.11.3
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: Integer32
Access: read-only
Description: The average amount of memory swapped in from disk, calculated over the last minute.
What is ssSwapIn?
This object measures the average amount of memory being swapped from disk into RAM over the last minute, indicating how much the system is relying on disk storage as virtual memory. High swap-in rates signal memory pressure and performance degradation, as disk access is orders of magnitude slower than RAM access. System administrators monitor this metric to detect when systems are undersized for their workload and to identify memory leaks or runaway processes consuming excessive memory.
Examples
Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.11.3 snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> UCD-SNMP-MIB::ssSwapIn
Get a specific instance (index 1):
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.11.3.1 snmpget -v2c -c public <target> UCD-SNMP-MIB::ssSwapIn.1
