ssCpuRawSystem

Module: UCD-SNMP-MIB

OID (symbolic): UCD-SNMP-MIB::ssCpuRawSystem

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.11.52

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Counter32

Access: read-only

Description:

The number of 'ticks' (typically 1/100s) spent processing system-level code.

On a multi-processor system, the 'ssCpuRaw*' counters are cumulative over all CPUs, so their sum will typically be N*100 (for N processors).

This object may sometimes be implemented as the combination of the 'ssCpuRawWait(54)' and 'ssCpuRawKernel(55)' counters, so care must be taken when summing the overall raw counters.

What is ssCpuRawSystem?

This counter measures accumulated CPU 'ticks' (hundredths of a second) spent in kernel/system-level code across all CPU cores. On a 4-core system, the value increments 4x faster than on a single core due to cumulative counting. A monitoring tool would sample this periodically to calculate the percentage of time the system spends in kernel space versus user applications.
