prMax

Module: UCD-SNMP-MIB

OID (symbolic): UCD-SNMP-MIB::prMax

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.2.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Integer32

Access: read-only

Description: The maximum number of processes that should be running. An error flag is generated if the number of running processes is > the maximum.

What is prMax?

This OID holds the maximum number of instances of the named process that are allowed to be running. If the observed count in prCount exceeds this value, the agent raises prErrorFlag, which helps an admin catch runaway process forking or duplicate daemon instances.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.2.1.4
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> UCD-SNMP-MIB::prMax

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.2.1.4.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> UCD-SNMP-MIB::prMax.1
