memCachedX

Module: UCD-SNMP-MIB

OID (symbolic): UCD-SNMP-MIB::memCachedX

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.4.26

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: CounterBasedGauge64

Access: read-only

Description: The total amount of real or virtual memory currently allocated for use as cached memory.

This object will not be implemented on hosts where the underlying operating system does not explicitly identify memory as specifically reserved for this purpose.

What is memCachedX?

This OID reports the total amount of memory currently allocated as cached memory on this host, in kilobytes, when the OS explicitly tracks this category. An admin distinguishes this from memAvailRealX to understand how much 'used' memory is actually reclaimable disk cache rather than truly unavailable.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.4.26
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> UCD-SNMP-MIB::memCachedX

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.4.26.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> UCD-SNMP-MIB::memCachedX.1
