Module: UCD-SNMP-MIB

OID (symbolic): UCD-SNMP-MIB::memCached

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.4.15

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Integer32

Access: read-only

Description:

The total amount of real or virtual memory currently allocated for use as cached memory.

This object will not be implemented on hosts where the underlying operating system does not explicitly identify memory as specifically reserved for this purpose.

What is memCached?

This object reports the total amount of memory (in kilobytes) currently allocated and reserved by the operating system for caching purposes, such as disk cache or buffer cache. An operator uses this metric to understand how much memory is actively being used for caching and to tune system performance. Not all operating systems distinguish cached memory separately, so this object may be unavailable on some hosts.
