memBufferX
Module: UCD-SNMP-MIB
OID (symbolic): UCD-SNMP-MIB::memBufferX
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.4.25
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: CounterBasedGauge64
Access: read-only
Description: The total amount of real or virtual memory currently allocated for use as memory buffers.
This object will not be implemented on hosts where the underlying operating system does not explicitly identify memory as specifically reserved for this purpose.
What is memBufferX?
This read-only gauge reports the total amount of memory (in kilobytes) currently allocated for use as data buffers by the operating system. Higher values indicate more memory is reserved for I/O buffering. An operator monitors this to understand memory allocation trends and detect potential memory pressure.
Examples
Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.4.25 snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> UCD-SNMP-MIB::memBufferX
Get a specific instance (index 1):
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.4.25.1 snmpget -v2c -c public <target> UCD-SNMP-MIB::memBufferX.1
