tpLagLoadBalance
Module: TPLINK-LAG-MIB
OID (symbolic): TPLINK-LAG-MIB::tpLagLoadBalance
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.11863.6.9.1.1.2
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-write
Description: This object configures scope of Aggregate Arithmetic, which results in choosing a port to transfer the packets.
mac-source-dest: When this option is selected, the Aggregate Arithmetic will apply to the source and destination MAC addresses of the packets.
ip-source-dest: When this option is selected, the Aggregate Arithmetic will apply to the source and destination IP addresses of the packets.
What is tpLagLoadBalance?
This object selects the traffic-distribution algorithm used to choose which member port of a LAG carries a given packet, based on source MAC, destination MAC, source-and-destination MAC, source IP, destination IP, or source-and-destination IP. Admins tune this to better balance traffic across LAG member ports depending on their traffic pattern, since a poor match between algorithm and traffic mix can leave some member ports underused. For example, an admin whose traffic is dominated by many-to-many IP flows would set this to ip-source-dest(5) to spread load more evenly than a MAC-based algorithm would.
Examples
Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.11863.6.9.1.1.2 snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> TPLINK-LAG-MIB::tpLagLoadBalance
Get a specific instance (index 1):
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.11863.6.9.1.1.2.1 snmpget -v2c -c public <target> TPLINK-LAG-MIB::tpLagLoadBalance.1
Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):
snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.11863.6.9.1.1.2.1 i <value>
SNMPv3 example:
snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> tpLagLoadBalance.1
