tpGvrpLeaveTimer

Module: TPLINK-GVRP-MIB

OID (symbolic): TPLINK-GVRP-MIB::tpGvrpLeaveTimer

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.11863.6.20.1.2.1.1.6

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Once the Leave Timer is set, the GARP port receiving a Leave message will start its Leave timer, and unregister the attribute information if it does not receive a Join message again before the timer times out. The Leave Timer ranges from 60 to 3000 centiseconds and could be devided exactly by 5. (leave timer)*10 <= leaveAll timer, (join timer)*2 <= leave timer.

What is tpGvrpLeaveTimer?

This read-write object sets, in centiseconds (60-3000, divisible by 5), how long a GARP port waits after receiving a Leave message before unregistering the attribute if no Join message arrives to renew it, with the constraint that leave timer times 10 must not exceed the LeaveAll timer, and join timer times 2 must not exceed the leave timer. An admin tunes this to control how quickly stale VLAN registrations are removed after a Leave message, balancing responsiveness against premature deregistration. Setting it to 600 centiseconds (6 seconds) gives other ports 6 seconds to re-join before the attribute is deregistered.
