safeModeStatus

Module: SIAE-SAFE-MODE-MIB

OID (symbolic): SIAE-SAFE-MODE-MIB::safeModeStatus

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.3373.1103.99.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: The safe mode status of the equipment. Equipment in normal-mode has safe mode status inactive

What is safeModeStatus?

This read-only object reports the equipment's specific safe-mode condition, with values such as inactive, noAuxService, linkMngmt, siteMngmt, siteDefault, or siteRescue, where inactive means the equipment is operating normally. Admins read this to pinpoint exactly why a device has entered safe mode, for example a lost auxiliary service versus falling back to site-rescue configuration, rather than just knowing an alarm is raised. A safeModeStatus of siteRescue(6) tells the admin the equipment has fallen back to its rescue configuration, likely reachable at the address in safeModeRescueIpAddress.

Start monitoring SIAE MICROELETTRONICA microwave radio link equipment (safe-mode/config-recovery status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Create custom SNMP monitor using the SIAE-SAFE-MODE-MIB::safeModeStatus OID value, configure state conditions and alerts, and monitor any SIAE MICROELETTRONICA microwave radio link equipment (safe-mode/config-recovery status) from a single console.

How to Use in IPNetwork Monitor

Select an SIAE MICROELETTRONICA microwave radio link equipment (safe-mode/config-recovery status) as the target host to create a monitor — the SNMP service should be up and running on it. Click New Monitor, then check SNMP Custom on the Favorites tab, click Next, and confirm the host. On the next page, click Select... to open the built-in SNMP MIB Browser and type safeModeStatus into the Find box to locate it in the OID tree, then select it and click OK. The safe mode status of the equipment. Equipment in normal-mode has safe mode status inactive. On the monitor's Main parameters page you can set the target's SNMP port (default 161), credentials, polling interval, and other settings — see the SNMP Monitor help for details. On the State conditions and Alerting tabs, configure when the monitor should change state and trigger an alert; since this is an INTEGER-type OID, Value bounds is the most useful condition here — trigger an alert if the value is anything other than 'safeModeStatusInactive', since that indicates the condition this object reports has changed to one worth investigating. Click Finish to create the monitor; you can adjust any parameter later.
