rdEncryptSystemControl

Module: SIAE-RADIO-ENCRYPTION-MIB

OID (symbolic): SIAE-RADIO-ENCRYPTION-MIB::rdEncryptSystemControl

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.3373.1103.96.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: The administrative system control status requested by management for the ENCRYPT feature. The value 'start'(1) indicates that all resources required by ENCRYPT should be allocated and ENCRYPT should be supported in the device on ports which shown the specific capability. The value shutdown(2) indicates that ENCRYPT should be shutdown in the device on all ports and all allocated memory must be released.

What is rdEncryptSystemControl?

This object is the global on/off switch for the ENCRYPT feature across the whole device: setting it to start(1) allocates the resources needed to support encryption on any capable port, while shutdown(2) tears encryption down device-wide and releases all associated memory. An admin must set this to start before any individual radio link's rdEncryptAdminStatus can take effect. Setting this to shutdown(2) during a maintenance window disables encryption support entirely, even if individual links still show rdEncryptAdminStatus as enabled.
