rdbmsStateChange

Module: RDBMS-MIB

OID (symbolic): RDBMS-MIB::rdbmsStateChange

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.39.2.1

Node type: NOTIFICATION-TYPE

Description: An rdbmsStateChange trap signifies that one of the database server/databases managed by this agent has changed its rdbmsRelState in a way that makes it less accessible for use. For these purposes, both active(2) and available(3) are considered fully accessible. The state sent with the trap is the new, less accessible state.

Examples

Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):

snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' RDBMS-MIB::rdbmsStateChange
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.2.1.39.2.1

Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):

snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public

Example snmptrapd log entry:

zoo11-linux.zoo [UDP: [192.168.30.111]:50152->[192.168.30.10]:162]:
  DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::sysUpTimeInstance = Timeticks: (309187048) 35 days, 18:51:10.48
  SNMPv2-MIB::snmpTrapOID.0 = OID: RDBMS-MIB::rdbmsStateChange
