xstInstancePortPriority

Module: PowerConnect3248-MIB

OID (symbolic): PowerConnect3248-MIB::xstInstancePortPriority

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10895.3.1.5.6.5.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Integer32

Access: read-write

Description: Defines the priority used for this port in the Spanning Tree Algorithm. If the path cost for all ports on a switch is the same, the port with the highest priority (i.e., lowest value) will be configured as an active link in the Spanning Tree. This makes a port with higher priority less likely to be blocked if the Spanning Tree Algorithm is detecting network loops. Where more than one port is assigned the highest priority, the port with lowest numeric identifier will be enabled.

What is xstInstancePortPriority?

Sets this port's Spanning Tree priority (0-240) for the given instance; when multiple ports tie on path cost, the one with the highest priority (lowest numeric value) is chosen as the active link, and it also makes the port less likely to be blocked if a loop is detected.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10895.3.1.5.6.5.1.3
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> PowerConnect3248-MIB::xstInstancePortPriority

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10895.3.1.5.6.5.1.3.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> PowerConnect3248-MIB::xstInstancePortPriority.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10895.3.1.5.6.5.1.3.1 i <value>
