This object is the index value that uniquely identifies one dry-contact alarm input or output row in the device's alarm configuration table. An admin uses this ID -- ranging 1-6 on the T5C-XG platform or 1-4 on the T-Metro 200 ES -- to pick out which physical sensor a given alarm's settings and status apply to. For example, prvtAlarmID equal to 2 identifies the second dry-contact sensor input on the chassis.
