snmpServerStatus

Module: PRVT-CONFIGCHANGE-MIB

OID (symbolic): PRVT-CONFIGCHANGE-MIB::snmpServerStatus

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.738.1.5.150.1.5

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: accessible-for-notify

Description: Shows the enabled/disabled status of the SNMP server.

What is snmpServerStatus?

This value, accessible only as part of a notification, reports the enabled(1) or disabled(2) status of the device's SNMP server, and is included in the snmpServerStatusChange notification sent whenever that status changes (sent before disabling if going from enabled to disabled). Admins use this to be alerted whenever SNMP access to the device is turned on or off, which is significant both for monitoring continuity and security auditing. For example, receiving a trap with snmpServerStatus set to disabled(2) alerts the admin that SNMP monitoring on this device is about to stop, so they can expect a gap in polled data.
