Description: Notification that system is not able to register with the gatekeeper
What is pictureTelTrapGatekeeperUnreachable?
This notification is sent when the Polycom VCS (video conferencing system) loses connectivity to its configured gatekeeper, which is the server responsible for call routing and registration. The system cannot complete call setup or maintain its registration without the gatekeeper. Video system administrators receive this alert to quickly diagnose and restore gatekeeper connectivity.
Examples
Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' PICTURETEL-VCS-MIB::pictureTelTrapGatekeeperUnreachable snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.274.5.5.1.2.0.24
Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):
snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public
Example snmptrapd log entry:
